Golden Sunrise Swiss Chard Highlights

  • Germination: 4 to 6 days.
  • Soak: No need if seeds are buried when planting.
  • Harvest: 14 to 21 days
  • Flavor: Sweet and earthy. The taste is a mixture somewhere between beets and spinach.
  • Nutrients: Vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and zinc. Rich in antioxidants.

The stems of Golden Sunrise Swiss Chard are bright yellow. However, the bright green leaves offset the beautiful yellow stem color. The leaves never get too large; it’s all about the beauty of the stems.

Golden Sunrise Swiss Chard microgreens’ color makes them a great addition to any salad or used as a garnish.

The leaves are bright green and look nice with the yellow stems. The stems aren’t super sturdy and can grow curved or crooked. However, they don’t get huge so that they will last long in the tray.

Swiss chard microgreens are susceptible to damping-off disease, so you must take care with the watering. Do not overwater Swiss chard microgreens.

It takes Swiss chard microgreens about 14 days to reach harvest size, but they can grow in the trays much longer.

Seeding Density

Seeding Density for Golden Sunrise Swiss Chard Microgreen Seed

By Weight

Home Microgreens Tray: 6.2 grams

1010 Tray: 16 grams

1020 Tray: 33.1 grams

By Measuring Spoon

Home Microgreens Tray: 1.2 Tablespoons

1010 Tray: 3.3 Tablespoons

1020 Tray: 6.5 Tablespoons

All volumetric measurements are level, not heaping spoons.

I use these vertical-sided measuring spoons because the seeds are easier to level with the straight sides.

These are my recommended seeding densities to produce a great-looking Golden Sunrise Swiss Chard microgreens tray.

I like to allow microgreen leaves to develop to a larger size as they provide more nutrition & flavor than producing smaller leaves and stems.

Microgreen density depends on many environmental factors and seed germination percentages.

You may prefer to modify the seeding density, but my seeding densities are a great starting point if nothing else.

Check out the Home Microgreens Seed Density Course if you have a different size tray.
