Chervil seed is much different than other microgreens. The seeds are needle-like, similar to brown to black spruce needles.
Chervil seed is slow to germinate (5 to 7 days) but grows quickly afterward. Chervil quickly reaches 3- to 4-inches in height and is ready to harvest in 14- to 18-days.
The leaves are light green. The true leaves are very feathery.
Chervil microgreens will also regrow after harvest if care is taken not to trim them too low.
The flavor of chervil is complex. The French consider chervil an essential herb to flavor egg, potato, fish, and poultry dishes. It can also be used in green salads, a little bit adds a lot of flavors.
