Borage Microgreen Seeds Highlights

  • Germination: 2 to 4 days.
  • Soak: No need.
  • Harvest: 12 to 21 days.
  • Flavor: A mixture of cucumber and melon flavors.
  • Nutrients: Vitamins B, C, and K, and folic acid.

Borage microgreen seeds have a unique shape and are multi-purpose plants. Not only are they interesting flavored microgreens, but they will also grow into beautiful flowers in the garden that attract pollinators.

As microgreens, the flavor is similar to cucumbers with a cantaloupe aftertaste. Borage microgreens add flavor profiles to salads, soups, and sandwiches.

The leaves are great in alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Try them in mojito cocktails.

Borage microgreens are pretty juicy and are used to flavor salads, sandwiches, and smoothies.

If allowed to mature, borage microgreens will produce beautiful edible cornflower blue flowers that attract many pollinators to the garden.

Borage is a reasonably easy microgreen to grow. These borage seeds will produce microgreens with succulent stems and intense flavor!

Seeding Density

Seeding Density for Borage Seed

By Weight

Home Microgreens Tray: 6.6 grams

1010 Tray: 17.8 grams

1020 Tray: 38.6 grams

By Measuring Spoon

Home Microgreens Tray: 0.9 Tablespoons

1010 Tray: 2.4 Tablespoons

1020 Tray: 4.8 Tablespoons

All volumetric measurements are level, not heaping spoons.

I use these vertical-sided measuring spoons because the seeds are easier to level with the straight sides.

These are my recommended seeding densities to produce a great-looking tray of Borage microgreens.

I like to allow microgreen leaves to develop to a larger size as they provide more nutrition & flavor than producing smaller leaves and stems.

Microgreen density depends on many environmental factors and seed germination percentages.

You may prefer to modify the seeding density, but my seeding densities are a great starting point if nothing else.

Check out the Home Microgreens Seed Density Course if you have a different size tray.
