Thick and durable, the 5-inch by 5-inch plastic microgreen planting trays are nearly indestructible.
Holes in the bottom of the tray are placed to optimize water absorption during bottom watering and to drain the soil media if necessary.
Eight trays fit perfectly in a 10″ by 20″ watering tray. Grow up to eight different microgreens in one 10- by 20-inch tray!
Note* four of these 5 by 5 trays will not fit properly in the 1010 trays.
You can use these inserts indoors or outdoors with soil and hydroponic applications. Six drainage slits remove excess water and allow for use with flood trays.
Remember, bottom watering microgreens keep the leaves dry and reduce fungus and disease issues. Also, the bottom watering method stops soil from splashing up on the microgreens reducing the need to wash the microgreens before consumption.
We highly recommend bottom watering microgreens.
The outside dimensions of each insert are 5 1/8″ by 5 1/8″ by 2 1/4″, making a planting surface area of 25 square inches.
